James is CEO of Wecash Asia Pacific. He joined Abakus Group as Partner (Asia Pacific) in Dec 2016 to spearhead the Group’s internationalisation, starting with its Wecash business. Since then, he has scaled the region from 0 to over 500 people across Singapore, Beijing, Jakarta and Ho Chi Minh while serving millions of new-to-credit consumers and business owners in the region.

James Chan is also co-founder and Managing Partner at Gravity Capital, a US$100 million fintech-focused credit fund that acts as an institutional lender through fintech partners in Indo-Pacific, with an initial focus on Indonesia and India.
