Kimberly Browne is the Executive Director of Patient & Family Services at Stanford Medicine Children’s Health. With a background in medical social work focusing on oncology, critical care, and trauma, Kim transitioned into leadership roles in 2011 and has enjoyed developing health systems-based social work, case management, and ancillary teams since. She has worked with Cooper University Health System in Camden, NJ, Banner Health System in Arizona, Tampa General Hospital in Florida, and now Stanford Medicine Children’s Health since May of 2019. Working in a variety of markets has provided Kim with a diversified knowledge base, allowing her to implement strategies that can have far-reaching impact on various patient populations. Kim’s passions touch on a multitude of areas including the integration of behavioral healthcare into the medical model, public policy and advocacy specific to healthcare, substance abuse intervention, and housing instability.
A northeastern native at heart, Kim completed her undergraduate education at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA. She subsequently went on to earn a Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and doesn’t miss a chance to head back into town for an Eagles game. In her free time, she enjoys cycling, kickboxing, and spending time at the beach.
Kim serves as President of the Northern California chapter of ACMA, and joined their National Board in May of this year. Additionally, she is a member of NASW, ACHE, and the Society for Social Work Leadership in Healthcare. Kim is also a Lean Six Sigma advanced yellow belt.
